Welcome—I'm glad you're here.
Root + Center is more than the name of my practice. It reflects a way of understanding growth that has taken shape through more than two decades of clinical work, coaching, research, teaching, and my own ongoing journey of learning and integration. Throughout each chapter of my career, I found myself returning to the same questions: What helps people truly flourish? What gets in the way? And how can we create the conditions where people feel safe enough to reconnect with themselves?
These questions continue to guide my work today.
Over the years, I've had the privilege of working alongside people from many walks of life—in hospitals, secure psychiatric settings, the VA, federal corrections, coaching environments, and academic spaces. Although the settings were different, a common thread remained: lasting growth rarely comes from trying to fix ourselves. It grows from understanding ourselves more fully and creating space for integration, authenticity, and wholeness.
My perspective has been shaped by both professional experience and personal discovery. Learning that I am AuDHD—and what I describe in my research as MINDS (Misunderstood, Intersectionally Neurodiverse, and Silenced)—became an invitation to understand myself more deeply. It sparked a journey of unmasking, reconnecting with my body, and intentionally integrating the many parts of who I am. That experience didn't replace my professional training; it deepened it, transforming how I understand authenticity, wellness, and what it means to live in alignment with ourselves.
Today, I bring together my background in clinical psychology, coaching, neuroscience, multicultural psychology, and embodied practices to support individuals and professionals seeking meaningful, sustainable growth. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions, I strive to create a collaborative space where curiosity replaces judgment, complexity is welcomed, and each person's unique experiences and strengths are honored.
My work is grounded in research while remaining open to the wisdom that exists beyond traditional psychological models. As a researcher, I am particularly interested in authenticity, embodiment, neuroaffirming approaches, and integrative models of wellness that honor diverse ways of knowing. I also had the privilege of co-developing the Integrative NeuroAffirming Framework (INAF), an evolving model that brings together neuroscience, multicultural psychology, embodiment, and identity-affirming principles to support authenticity and whole-person wellness. I continue to build upon this work through ongoing research exploring how authenticity and embodiment can transform our understanding of health, healing, and human flourishing.
Outside of my work, you'll often find me reading, cooking, running, practicing yoga or meditation, watching a great film, spending time with my family, or diving into a new topic simply for the joy of learning. These moments help keep me rooted and continue to shape how I show up—in my work and in my life.
Healing begins when we stop asking who we should be and begin listening for who we already are. I don't believe my role is to provide the answers—I believe it's to create the space where your own wisdom can emerge.
